I was able to visit the MIT Museum during my trip to Boston a few weeks ago, and I got to see a really awesome robot! Robotic technology has advanced greatly over the last few years, and movement has been a new focus. In MIT's case, they wanted to create a robot that could run. Since cheetahs are known for running, engineers modeled their robot off this graceful animal.
I really loved watching the failure videos because it showed me how even high-level engineers from MIT need to go back to the drawing board sometimes. It was also really cool to see how their new model, MIT Cheetah 2, is capable of detecting objects to jump over. Check out some of the videos below!
